Total: 15 min Diners: 4

The microwave is not just for heating milk or preparing biscuits in a cup, it can also be a great ally when it comes to preparing more elaborate and festive dishes like this hake with clams in sauce.

Ingredients

Large, thick hake slices, 4 Clams, 500 g Onion, 1 Onion, 1 Garlic, 1 clove Fresh parsley, 3 or 4 sprigs Wheat flour, 1 tablespoon Water, 1 glass Extra virgin olive oil, 2 tablespoons Salt

Preparation

Baking a hake in sauce with clams in the microwave is so easy and quick that it won’t even take you 15 minutes to do all the steps once you have the ingredients ready. Plus, you’ll make minimal mess.

Step 1

We need to make sure the clams are clean and free of grit. If we are not, we will put them in a bowl of salted water and leave them for a couple of hours in the refrigerator, after that time, we will remove them from the water with our hands and avoiding overturning the water over the clams so that the grit that has been deposited at the bottom falls back onto the clams.

Wash the hake slices and dry them.

Step 2

Crush the garlic and onion into brunoise.

Step 3

In a large microwave-safe bowl, add the oil, garlic and onion. Cook for 4 minutes at 800 W turning carefully halfway through cooking.

Step 4

Place the hake slices on top of the fried garlic and onion. Dissolve the tablespoon of flour in a glass of water and pour the mixture over the hake. Add salt to taste and cook for 4 minutes at 800 W. Add the clams and cook for another 2 minutes at 800 W.

Step 5

Serve immediately, sprinkling with finely chopped fresh parsley. We can accompany it with white rice or boiled potatoes or simply a good piece of bread to dip in the sauce.
