Güveč is a delicious, very simple Turkish dish, prepared downstairs in the oven. Without much effort and without any unnecessary utensils.
1.
Cut the Vegetable Recipes into medium sized pieces, except for the onion, which you cut into smaller cubes. Cut the meat into smaller pieces. I used the thigh, so I put 2 small bones in addition to the meat for better flavor 🙂
2.
In a ceramic bowl, first put just the meat and onion and mix them with salt, ground pepper and oregano. Then add the eggplant, potatoes, peppers and mix it all up a bit. Smooth the whole thing out a bit and place the tomatoes on top. Season the tomatoes with salt and pepper, drizzle with oil and arrange the butter slices. If you want you can also sprinkle chilli/pul biber.
3.
Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C uncovered, but only until the contents of the dish are completely heated through. When the contents begin to slowly sizzle around the edges, cover the ceramic dish with a lid. Use either a ceramic or a plain cover. From the time of covering, leave to bake for about 1,5 hours. It bakes slower and a little longer in the ceramic than on the baking sheet 🙂

The dish is really very tasty, it reminds of Goulash You can serve it classically with just bread, or rice or bulgur pilaf. Have a good taste !
