250 g sour cream 1 tsp dried onion spice blend chillies to taste fresh young onion sprigs
step
Marinated spicy sweet potatoes with chilli spices. To go with the onion dip. They are not only a delicious snack, but also healthy.
1.
Peel the sweet potatoes with a peeler or just brush them thoroughly with a toothbrush, as most of the nutrients are under the skin. Then cut them into approximately 0.5 cm slices, which are carefully dried with a kitchen paper towel.
2.
Homemade marinade: Pour olive oil into a glass or plastic container (not metal), add a teaspoon of cumin, the strained garlic and the juice of a lime. Finally, season with salt to taste and mix well. The flavours of the ingredients must be balanced, so taste the marinade several times.
3.
Add the sliced sweet potatoes to the marinade, mixing well to coat all the slices evenly in the marinade. Cover the container with cling film and refrigerate overnight.
4.
Onion Dip: Before you start grilling, prepare the dip. Stir the sour cream into the sour cream, the dried onion, the chili pepper seasoning mix and salt to taste. Finally, add the chopped young onion sprigs and stir together. Refrigerate for a while until the flavours have melded.
5.
The next day, fire up the grill (in the off-season it can also be an oven grill) and grill the sweet potatoes spread out on a baking tray until golden on both sides. Sweet potatoes have a delicate consistency, so about 5-7 minutes on each side is enough on such a grill at 220 °C. If you spread the slices on a perforated pizza tray, you only need to grill one side.
6.
Before eating, brush the sweet potatoes with butter and serve with dip. Enjoy!
