God’s Grace V.

From the recipe book of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers. Narrow strips of smooth, non-sticky dough fried in oil until golden brown, sprinkled liberally with icing sugar after draining.

Ingredients:

300 g of plain flour 50 g of icing sugar 20 g of icing sugar butter 2 tbsp of rum 50 ml milk 2 pcs egg yolks pinch of salt frying oil powdered sugar for sprinkling food foil to wrap dough

Procedure:

1. Sift the flour, mix with icing sugar and a pinch of salt
2. Add the butter cut into pieces, egg yolks, rum and milk, work everything into a smooth non-sticky dough, wrap it in cling film and leave it in the fridge for 30 minutes
3. Fry in well heated oil until golden brown on both sides, then drain on absorbent paper
