This garlic pasta-type sauce recipe is a versatile and flavorful way to make a meal. Made with simple ingredients, it can be used as a pasta sauce, on top of chicken or fish, or as a dipping sauce. The options are endless!
To make the sauce, you will need:
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Add the chicken broth and whisk until smooth. Stir in the parsley, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2 minutes, or until the sauce is thickened. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and serve over pasta, chicken, or fish.
For a bit of extra flavor, try roasting the garlic before adding it to the sauce. Simply preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and roast the garlic cloves for 10 minutes. Add them to the saucepan with the rest of the ingredients and proceed with the recipe as directed
