Fried fish in batter

1500 g fish fillets 150 g plain flour 250 g oil 1/2 pk lemon 2 pk egg 75 g oil to taste salt to taste pepper to taste 1 cup warm water

1. In a bowl, mix the flour and salt with the oil, then carefully stir in the warm water so that no lumps form. Cover the dough in the bowl and leave to rest. 2. Cut the fish fillets into 1 cm thick and 5-7 cm long pieces, season with salt and pepper, drizzle with lemon juice to which you have added a little oil and mix well. Then leave to rest for 15-20 min. 3. About 10-15 min before serving, stir in the egg whites from 2 egg whites. 4. Using a fork, dip the fish pieces in the batter and place them in the well heated oil. When frying, shake the pan to keep the fish submerged in the oil. 5. Pile the fried fish onto a warmed dish. As a side dish, serve boiled potatoes drizzled with butter and lettuce.
