With the festive season in full swing, there are plenty of excuses to surprise your guests with something new, exciting and definitely delicious. We want to be ready for New Year’s Eve too, and we’re experimenting with a variety of exciting snacks to make sure we have the right one on the right day for family, guests and, of course, ourselves.
We’ve been testing and inventing new recipes for our great favourite – fish – and we’ll be sharing with you today and in the coming days some tips on how to make incredibly appetising and delicious fish snacks.
Here we’ve started with a trout snack. Fish producer M.V.Wool offers a wide range of different berries at Mati’s Fish Shop, including salmon roe, trout roe and whitefish. We chose trout berries for our first recipe. M.V.Wool says that when pickling the berries, they aim to find the optimum balance between the impeccable flavour of the product and the added preservatives, and it has to be said that the delicate flavour of the pickled berries is indeed perfectly brought out.
The soup is based on a slice of fresh cucumber, topped with cream cheese seasoned with salt and pepper, and rolled with cheese. On top of everything we added a generous amount of delicious trout roe and garnished with dill.
