Breaded fillet with chewy potatoes
Breaded fillet, generally loved for its low price and tasty white fish fillet, is also perfect for a quick dinner. We’ve been on a white fish streak for several weeks now, but haven’t got to the banker yet.
We thought we’d try something a little more child-friendly today. As we all know, it’s quite tricky to ‘feed’ fish to children – anyone who’s tried it knows. No matter how you try, no parent can resist classic meatballs. The taste of fish is usually appreciated from an early age, and that’s just the way it is.
So today we decided to make a more child-friendly dish – at least in appearance. We breaded the M.V.Wool pangafil from Mati’s Fishmonger’s with flour, egg and breadcrumbs in a frying pan until it was nice and crispy, and then coated the fish in the batter. On the side, we added a fresh and healthy green salad.
Another favourite with the kids is any alternative to the classic boiled potato. So today, we made some oven-baked cowboy potatoes – nice crunchy and exciting-looking potato wedges.
A quick and tasty meal that’s also healthy. All parents know how hard it is to get kids to eat certain foods – beetroot and fish among them – but no one’s stopping you from using little tricks and tricks of the trade!
