” Fake marlenka ” as we call this cake in our house is not missing at any family celebration or gathering . With its easy preparation and also its delicious taste of caramel and nuts, it has won a clear first place among Sunday desserts for coffee and has never disappointed even the most demanding sweet tooth.
1.
Mix the vanilla sugar with the crystal sugar. Mix the flour and add baking soda to it. Beat the egg whites and a few drops of lemon to make a snow. Stir half of the sugar into the semi-stiff snow. Beat the egg yolks with a pinch of salt, vanilla flavouring, water and the other half of the sugar until thick and fluffy. Whisk in half of the snow. Stir in the sifted flour mixed with the baking soda by hand and the remaining snow. Finally, gently fold in the ground walnuts (amount to taste).
2.
Bake in a 24 cm baking tin lined with baking paper in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes, depending on the oven.
3.
Prepare the cream. Beat the room temperature butter until foamy and gradually beat in the caramel salsa, a little at a time.
4.
After baking, cut the cake into equal parts and fill with the cream. Finally, sprinkle generously with ground nuts , or decorate with chocolate. Leave to set in a cool place.
