Clean the onion and cut it into small cubes. Put a little oil in a frying pan and fry until golden. Add the minced meat and break it into smaller pieces with your hands. Then season the minced meat with salt and black pepper. Simmer the minced meat for a while on low heat.

Slice the washed eggplant lengthwise into thick slices. Spoon out the flesh or the inside of the eggplant and salt the eggplant thoroughly and let them stand for about 5 minutes to get rid of the bitterness. Salt the eggplant. Now prepare the filling.

Fill the eggplant with minced meat and either put a slice of cheese on top or grate some cheese. Cover it with foil and put it in the oven. Cover with water. Bake in a preheated oven at 170 °C for about 15 minutes.
