|
Easter cake with cheese is a typical Umbrian Easter dish. Cheese cake is served sliced like a classic bread and served on Easter morning with blessed eggs and salami. As it happens, there are several recipes for this Easter dish in Umbria!
Ingredients:
500 g
of flour
about 100 g
of Gran Moravia cheese
about 150 g
of Pecorino Romano cheese
25 g
of bread
4 pcs
eggs
1 jar
td>milk
a few pieces of Emmental
butter
pepper
Procedure:
Stir the yeast in a saucepan with the milk (warm it just enough so it’s not hot). Pour the flour into a bowl (or onto a wooden board) and make a well inside.
Knock the eggs into the well and mix them well. Add the grated Gran Moravia and Pecorino, a little pepper and the yeast and milk. Mix everything well. Finally, stir in small pieces of Emmental, Pecorino and Gran Moravia cheese. Leave to rise for at least 2 hours – cover the dough with a tea towel.
Take a mould, grease it with butter and put the dough in it. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake the dough for about 40 minutes until golden.
Finally take it out and let it cool.
Recommendation:
Serve sliced like bread with Italian salami, boiled eggs and spread with mayonnaise (who likes).
