I have adored doughnuts all my life. It’s a treat for all ages. 🙂 As a kid, I spent a lot of time at my godmother’s house, my cousins and I would go fishing, and we’d come home in the evening, all freezing cold, where doughnuts with delicious homemade jam would be waiting for us. We got a glass of warm milk to go with them and excitedly shouted over each other describing the day’s experiences. 🙂 I will never forget it. 🙂
1.
Make sourdough starter, add it to the flours, 3 egg yolks. Add grated lemon zest, pinch of salt, melted Hera. Add milk as needed and work into a dough. Let it rise in a warm place.
2.
Roll out the dough on a floured board, cut out doughnuts.
3.
Fry on both sides. Remove them to a paper towel,
4.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with your favorite jam. Enjoy.
