A traditional English cake that the whole family, including the little ones, will enjoy.

1.

Heat the oil in a large frying pan, add the finely chopped onion and sauté.

2.

Instantly add the butter slices, which will melt nicely.

3.

Add the sliced leeks and sauté everything together until soft.

4.

Add the pressed garlic through a pestle and mortar and stir, sauté for a minute.

5.

Dust with cornflour and stir the mixture.

6.

Incrementally add room temperature cream to make a thick mixture.

7.

Add the fish cut into larger pieces and mix again.

8.

Next, add the baby spinach, frozen peas and broccoli florets (boil these in water for three minutes beforehand and drain immediately and pour cold water over them to retain their beautiful green colour).

9.

Toss the whole mixture together again and cook for a while.

10.

Add the grated cheddar cheese and stir until melted.

11.

Transfer the prepared mixture into the baking dish.

12.

Place the thinly sliced potatoes on top of the mixture.

13.

Salt, pepper and drizzle with oil.

14.

Place in a preheated oven at 200 degrees and bake for 50 minutes, or until potatoes are done.

15.

After baking, allow to cool for a while to allow the flavours to combine and make the cake easier to cut.

16.

Serve.
