Lovers of nut desserts will come into their own. Juicy filling in the middle of yeasted dough.
1.
Dough: In lukewarm milk, crush the yeast and add a teaspoon of granulated sugar. Leave the sourdough starter to swell in a warm place.
2.
Mix the egg yolks with the sugar, add the melted butter, milk and the flour. Finally, add the sourdough starter and work into a smooth dough.
3.
Filling: Mix the ground nuts with powdered sugar, add the grated apple, warm milk and melted butter.
4.
Divide the dough in half. Roll out the first half to the size of a baking sheet (30×40). Place on a baking sheet that you have greased and floured. Spread generously with jam and spread the walnut filling.
5.
Place the other rolled out half of the dough on top, prick with a fork, cover and let rise for about 50 minutes. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees and bake the cake for 35-40 minutes.
6.
Beat the cream while whisking. Beat the three egg whites until stiff. Then gradually beat in the granulated sugar, a tablespoon at a time.
7.
Remove the cake, spread the snow, sprinkle with nuts and bake again. However, turn the temperature down to 130 degrees and bake for another 20 minutes. Be sure to watch the cake so it doesn’t burn. Enjoy!
