Delicate apple slices

I got this recipe from my mom, she traditionally baked it, she still has it from her mom. It’s different from the way we bake now, it’s amazing, tender, delicious and a memory.

Process the ingredients for the dough, divide in half, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Crush the apples.

Place the grated apples on a baking tray and sprinkle the sugar over the apples, place them in the oven and pre-bake them, so to speak. Then put them in a cold place to cool down.

Place the rolled out one sheet of pastry on a baking tray, place the apples on top of this sheet. Roll out the other pastry and cover the apple layer. Brush the dough with hot water and beaten egg.

Bake until pink (180 degrees, 40 minutes), and then cut the cake into rectangles with a knife dipped in water.
