Staročeský recipe for savoury pastries suitable as a side dish for lunch soups or as a snack with beer or wine.
Ingredients:
1 part
of cottage cheese
1 part
of ground lard
1 part
smooth flour
Other:
baking paper
beaten egg to coat
cumin, salt, grated cheese, crushed nuts
Procedure:
How much cottage cheese, how much flour, and how many ground lardons are worked into a dough.
Roll out the dough into a thicker sheet, using a glass to cut out circles, for example.
Place the squares on a baking tray lined with baking paper, brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with caraway seeds, salt, grated cheese and crushed nuts if necessary.
Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C until nicely golden.
