Salad of white cabbage, carrots, onions, mayonnaise, lemon juice and cheddar cheese. Recipe from USA. The famous KFC chain has one of the patents for the recipe “Coleslaw”.
Ingredients:
1 piece
of small white cabbage
1 pc
red onion
2 pcs
carrots
100 g
of cheddar
8 tbsp
mayo
2 tbsp
sugar
2 tablespoons
fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon
spices (optional)
salt
Procedure:
Slice the cabbage in half, then quarter, cut off any woody parts and chop or grate into thin noodles.
Place the cabbage in a large bowl, season with salt, let it rest for a while, then press it firmly with your hands and knead it like dough – the cabbage will release its juices and become tender.
Add the cleaned, sliced carrot, peeled, thinly sliced onion, stir in the sugar, freshly squeezed lemon juice and set aside for 1 hour.
Then add the mayonnaise with finely chopped chives, mix everything well to disperse the mayonnaise evenly, add salt to taste and finally stir in the finely grated cheddar.
Recommendation:
The salad is best left to rest for one to two days.
