Churros

If you have never tried a fresh and crispy churro that has been dipped in thick and hot cocoa, then you have not yet experienced the best that Spanish cuisine has to offer. 1. Stir the salt and sugar into the sifted flour
2. Heat water and oil in a saucepan, bring to the boil and slowly pour in the flour mixed with salt and sugar, stirring until a stiff paste forms
3. Let stand for 2-3 minutes, then incorporate the beaten egg into the mixture
4. Transfer the smooth dough to a rolling pin and shape into sticks, horseshoes or even snails, which are fried in a higher layer of well heated oil until golden brown
5. 6. Serve with hot chocolate or cocoa, or good quality black coffee.
