You can bake this Christmas cake anytime, even for breakfast.
1.
I prepare the dough in a bowl, progressively add the ingredients with yeast with yeast
2.
and I make a smooth dough.I leave it in a warm place to rise.
3.
I drain the pre-soaked raisins and reserve the rum for further baking.
4.
Place the risen dough on a floured surface, spread it out and incorporate the raisins.
5.
and divide into a certain number of parts, depending on how many strands you want to knit with, I do 5 strands. First make 5 equal parts and use those to make equal balls.
6.
I unravel each ball to about 50 cm
7.
and from 3 I knit a braid and twist 2 into a string.I press the braid a little in the middle with my palm
8.
and I put the dough from the 2 strands on top of the braid
9.
Transfer the braid to a greased baking sheet, secure with toothpicks, let it rise for at least 20 min,
10.
I brush with egg yolk mixed with a little milk and bake. The first 5 minutes at 240°C and then 30-40 minutes at 170°C. If it has colour and is no longer baked, cover with foil,so it doesn’t bake. Enjoy!!!
