Chocolate with marshmallows, a gourmet snack for Christmas afternoons
Total: 14 min Diners: 4
Chocolate a la taza is one of our most traditional snacks, and today we present it with a recipe a little more international, because good chocolate bars are becoming increasingly difficult to find, so this time we have replaced it with fondant chocolate for desserts.
Ingredients
Fondant chocolate (minimum 50% cocoa), 200 g Milk, 750 ml Cornstarch, 30 g Sugar, to taste Salt, a pinch Vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom,…. (optional) Clouds or marshmallows
How to make hot chocolate
Making a delicious hot chocolate with fondant chocolate will not take fifteen minutes, but it requires care if we do it by hand, because it should not stop stirring, so it is much more comfortable to do it with a food processor such as the Thermomix.
Step 1
Separate the ounces of chocolate bar.
Step 2
Place the chocolate pieces in the Thermomix mixing bowl and grate them by programming 30 seconds at speed 5-10 progressively.
Step 3
Add the milk, cornstarch, sugar, salt and, if desired, some flavoring such as the inside of a vanilla pod, ground cinnamon to taste, ground cardamom, we can even add a teaspoon of instant coffee to give a touch of cappuccino. Program 12 minutes at 90ºC and speed 2.
It is important not to overdo it with the sugar since part of the clouds will melt over the hot chocolate and add sugar.
Step 4
Whisk for 20 seconds at speed 4, spread in the cups in which we are going to serve it, cover with small marshmallows or marshmallows and serve immediately.
The marshmallows can be bought in candy stores, if you can’t find them you can use larger marshmallows and cut them into small pieces with kitchen scissors.
