Chocolate chip cookie recipe

Chocolate chip cookies are a classic favorite and can be made easily at home with just a few ingredients. This recipe yields a soft and chewy cookie, with plenty of chocolate chips in every bite. Tips for making perfect chocolate chip cookies:

Use good quality chocolate chips. I like to use Ghirardelli or Guittard chips. They melt well and have a great flavor.
Do not overbake the cookies. Bake until they are just set and lightly golden brown. They will continue to cook a bit as they cool on the baking sheet.
For extra chocolate flavor, add a teaspoon of cocoa powder to the dough.
Use a cookie scoop to form uniform cookies. This will help them bake evenly.

Ingredients:

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to butter mixture, mixing until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
3. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheet. Bake until cookies are golden brown, about 15 minutes. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes; transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely
