Chicken peas corn in the spaghetti sauce recipe

This dish is usually served as a side dish but can easily be made into a main dish by adding some cooked chicken or sausage. It is a great way to sneak some veggies into your family’s diet!
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15 ounces) black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 ounces) corn, drained
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup spaghetti sauce
Instructions:
1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
2. Add the tomatoes, black-eyed peas, corn, and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the spaghetti sauce.
3. Bring to a simmer and cook until heated through, about 10 minutes. Serve over cooked pasta or rice.
Tips: For a heartier dish, add some cooked chicken or sausage.
If you like your food with a little spice, add some red pepper flakes to the dish
