Chex Party Mix recipe Crockpot
Last Updated on
This Crockpot party mix recipe couldn't be easier to make. And unlike the new Chex party mix recipes, which require buttering and seasoning in the microwave, just shaking it with the soft mix will give it the same toasty flavor you get with Chex party mix in the oven. I like to make this Chex party mix recipe on the slow cooker for a few hours before I’m ready to serve it. Then I just stir the party mix every 45 minutes to ensure all the pieces are evenly coated.
What you’ll need
5 tablespoons butter 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 4 cups rice Chex cereal 2 cups bran Chex cereal 1 cup crackers 1 cup cheese crackers 1-1/2 cups plain or honey-roasted peanuts (honey-roasted peanuts give the party a sweet-spicy flavor)
How to make it
In a slow cooker, place the butter, soy sauce, garlic powder and onion powder. Turn it to low. Meanwhile, place the remaining ingredients in a large bowl. Add to crockpot'and stir to blend fine mixture with butter mixture. Cover and cook for 1-3 hours, stirring every 45 minutes. About half an hour before serving, remove the slow cooker cover and continue to cook the fine mixture for 30 minutes or until toasty.
