Cherry Poppyseed Porridge with Pecans

Recipe by foodblogger Inna Valoushkova from the blog Garden and Kitchen for a warm, healthy breakfast with oatmeal, milk, frozen or fresh cherries, honey, poppy seeds, butter, dark chocolate and pecans.

Ingredients:

100 g of Emco Fine Oatmeal 200 g frozen or fresh sour cherries 400-500 ml milk 5-6 pcs pecans 4 pcs dark chocolate cubes 2 tablespoons ground poppy seeds 2 tablespoons honey 1 tsp butter

Procedure:

  • In a saucepan, mix the fine oats with the milk and let stand for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Then bring to a boil, turn off the stove and let it finish.
  • In the meantime, put the sour cherries in a saucepan and boil briefly with the poppy seeds.
  • Then add the ground poppy seeds and sour cherries to the oatmeal, the honey and stir everything together. Stir in the chopped chocolate and pecans.
  • Recommendation:

    Instead of pecans, you can use walnuts or hazelnuts. Alternatively, you can substitute maple syrup or agave syrup for the honey.
