How to make the perfect cheese sandwich
. Ingredients
Brioche style sandwich bread, 4 slices Butter, 70 g Chopped chives, 3 tablespoons Garlic powder, rosemary, thyme… to taste (optional) Brie cheese, 100 g Havarti cheese, 80 g Dijon mustard, 2 teaspoons
Step 1
Chop the chives as finely as possible and temper the butter until smooth, the more manageable the better. It is important not to heat it in the microwave or in a saucepan because we do not want it to melt, only to be manageable. We can use chives, but also dill, coriander, rosemary, thyme, garlic… whatever you want, whatever you like. Chop finely.
Step 2
Mix the chopped herbs with the butter and mix very well with the help of a whisk or a fork. Another option is to put it all together in a food chopper. Add a pinch of salt and set aside.
Step 3
Cut the brie cheese and also the Havarti cheese into thin slices so that it melts better, in an easier way.
Step 4
Spread one layer inside the bread with the mustard and another with the herb butter. Arrange the cheese inside, well placed, and close. Spread the top with more herb butter.
Step 5
Melt some of that butter in a hot frying pan over medium heat and when it is well melted arrange the sandwich on the spread side. Cover and let it cook for a couple of minutes checking that it browns underneath but does not burn and that the cheese melts.
Step 6
Turn the sandwich over with a spatula. Before putting it back on the pan, melt a little more butter in the pan. Do the same process as before.
