Caribbean Pork and Beef

Recipe from Cuba for slices of roasted meat served with rice and bananas.

Ingredients:

Rule for 4 servings: 4 pcs pork slices (chops, rump) 4 pcs beef slices (beef butt or roast) 4 pcs garlic strips 4 pcs bananas 1 pc large onions 2 dl water 2 tbsp smooth flour 2 tbsp butter tomato paste mustard salt For rice: 300 g rice 30 g oil 3/4 l water 2 pcs

Procedure:

1. 1. Remove from the pan and put a second tablespoon of butter on it, in which fry the finely chopped onion
3. Add flour, fry and pour warm water, boil briefly, add tomato paste, garlic and a pinch of marjoram with salt
4. Add the slices of meat to the onion base and heat them well
5. Fry the rice in oil, add salt, add the onions, pour boiling water, cover with a lid and simmer until tender
6. Peel the bananas, cut them in half lengthwise and fry them in a tablespoon of butter
7. Arrange mounds of rice on individual plates, place a slice of meat on top and pour the sauce over them
8. Finally, garnish the dish with fried banana halves and serve immediately.
