If you’re planning on making bread, you may be wondering whether to make it into a loaf or a bread bowl. Here is a recipe to help you decide.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cornmeal

Instructions:

In a large bowl, combine yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let stand for 5 minutes.
Stir in oil and 3 cups flour. Beat until well blended. Stir in salt and remaining flour until dough forms.
Place dough on a lightly floured surface. Knead for 10 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning to grease top.
Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Punch dough down. Divide in half. On a lightly floured surface, roll each half into a 12-inch circle.
Sprinkle cornmeal on a baking sheet. Place dough circles on baking sheet. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
Bake at 425 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

You can use this bread recipe to make either a loaf or a bread bowl. If you want to make a loaf, simply follow the instructions above. If you want to make a bread bowl, cut the dough into 8 pieces before baking. When the bread is done baking, cut a hole in the center of each piece and gently press down to form a bowl shape
