Biscuits recipe using skim milk
Last Updated on
Biscuits are a type of quick bread that is usually leavened with baking powder or baking soda. They are made with flour, milk, butter, and sometimes sugar. Biscuits are often eaten as a breakfast food or snack.
This recipe for biscuits uses skim milk, which is a type of milk that has had the fat removed. Skim milk is lower in calories and fat than whole milk, but it still contains all the nutrients that milk contains.
Ingredients:
1 cup of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt
6 tablespoons of cold butter
3/4 cup of skim milk
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Stir in milk until dough comes together.
4. Turn out dough onto a floured surface and knead for 10-12 times.
5. Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
You can use this recipe to make drop biscuits by spooning the dough onto the baking sheet instead of rolling it out. You can also add in some shredded cheese, chopped bacon, or herbs to the dough before baking
