Best Freezable Sandwich Filling Recipes

Now is the perfect time to start packing some food. School days are so busy that it’s hard to sketch out outfits, let alone delicious and healthy lunches, so turn to frozen sandwich recipes .

Make those sandwiches ahead of time and freeze them, well packaged and labelled so you can know what you’ve got, then just pick one from your freezer for school days and pop it in the insulated lunch boxes. Lunch boxes should be insulated and make sure you have a box of frozen gel packets to catch. This will keep the temperature below 40 degrees F, so the sandwiches will thaw slowly for lunch, but are still safe to eat.

You can modify these recipes however you like. Use a different bread, change the cheese or veggies, and add breads like honey mustard or soft cream cheese mixed with herbs. Make sure you write down the changes you make so you can recreate your masterpieces.

If there are leftovers (doubtful!), tell your child to throw them away. These insulated sauces aren’t made to cool food; they can keep food cool for a few hours.
