Beleše with cottage cheese

From the recipes of our grandmothers, a tasty sweet equivalent of Bavarian muffins.

Ingredients:

500 g smooth flour 250 g cottage cheese 200 g of sour cream 30 g

td>cream

300 ml milk 1 tbsp sanding sugar marmalade icing sugar frying oil salt

Procedure:

Mix together the yeast, flour, sugar and 100 ml milk to form a sourdough starter, let it rise.

Add the remaining milk and flour to the sourdough starter, season lightly with salt and then work into a smooth dough.

Shape the dough into individual loaves and leave on a floured rolling pin to rise for 15-20 minutes.

Heat the oil and gradually fry the loaves, both sides, until golden brown.

Mix the fruit preserves 1:1 with the cottage cheese and spread this mixture on the individual beignets.

Finally, add a spoonful of jam and a spoonful of sour cream, sprinkle the beignets with icing sugar and serve.

Recommendation:

The beignets can also be served savoury with crushed garlic and a knob of butter, or with cabbage, fried English bacon and onions.
