Beer soup with bread

Recipe for soup from Denmark.

Ingredients:

Ingredients for 4 people: 250 g of edible bread 1/8 l water 2 dl water 2 pcs of light beer (0.3 l) sugar a pinch of finely grated lemon zest

Procedure:

1. Cut the bread into small pieces and soak in a mixture of water and half a litre of beer for a few hours
2. Then boil for about 20 minutes, strain, add the remaining beer, boil everything briefly, add cream, sugar, lemon zest (from a well-washed lemon) and bring to a boil.

Recommendation:

– Do not use Pilsner beer in the preparation of the soup – the soup would become bitter.
