Healthy banana muffins with chocolate chips for a treat. Greek yoghurt adds protein and moisture – the muffins are light with no butter or refined sugar. They are also great as a snack for kids.

Prepare all the ingredients and preheat the oven to 180 °C.

Line the muffin tin with paper or silicone baskets.

In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda and salt. Slice the bananas.

Place the bananas, honey, vanilla, oil, egg, milk and yogurt in a blender. Blend on high for about a minute or until everything is well combined, smooth and creamy.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined. Finally, gently fold in the chocolate chips, shavings or chocolate chunks.

Divide the batter evenly into the muffin tin…

… and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.

Turn the baked muffins onto a wire rack and let cool.

Serve the muffins slightly warmed – the chocolate should be semi-liquid.
