Bali style baby trout
Next week is coming up, if not this week then definitely next week! And that’s a good reason to eat fish. Since so many Recipe Box readers have contacted us wanting to see easier fish recipes, we’ve got one of those for you today. The chosen dish is baby trout, Bali style, and it was made with the help of a range of kitchen utensils from the shop Apelsin.
Easy and healthy dish
Trout, a member of the vegetable family, is packed with many good things for us. One of the main ones is its high Omega-3 fatty acid content. The latter is essential for our brains to function properly – helping to improve our memory and daily thinking. It’s also high in vitamin B12, which helps to oxygenate the blood, and baby trout is also very rich in protein.
As mentioned, it’s also very easy to make. It just needs a little preparation in the form of pickling. I recommend marinating several trout in advance right away and putting them in the freezer and you can have several meals in advance. Baby trout should sit in the marinade for at least a couple of hours, I left them overnight.
I’ve made this recipe before, but then I gave it a hot grill on top. This time I used an oven for cooking, which does have a few advantages over the grill, one of which is the ability to use my Moka oven plate. I placed the marinated fish on a plate with a number of side dishes to cover this delicious dish later. Looking at these pictures now, the end result was a fine work of art. I could have served the whole meal on the same stylish platter. But I still used a plate. The baby trout was accompanied by some limes and peppers on the plate, and it tasted damn good.
