Traditional baked potatoes according to our grandmothers’ simple recipes are the best. Just bake the potatoes in the skin, add butter and salt and of course sour milk or fermented sauerkraut and a delicious dinner is on the table.
1.
Use medium-sized potatoes that have a nice and healthy skin. Wash them well and cut them in half crosswise so they don’t take too long to bake. On each half, about 1 cm from the edges, make a cut deep into the flesh so as not to break the skin. Season lightly with salt and brush with melted butter. Herbs may also be added to the butter.
2.
Place the potatoes on a dry baking tray, cut side up, and bake at 200°C for about 50 minutes. Towards the end of the baking time, stir them a little to prevent the skin from sticking to the baking sheet.
3.
Serve with sour milk. If you want, you can add butter and salt again. Bigger gourmets can enjoy the baked potatoes with home-made fermented sauerkraut, for example. Enjoy!
