Baked Cabbage with Sausage and Apple

Sour cabbage is one of our healthiest and most affordable foods in season. The same goes for apples, which may seem a bit mundane to us because we harvest around 230 000 tonnes of them every year! However, both of these ingredients contain large amounts of vitamins B, C, E and other important nutrients. Together they taste really good, so get them in the oven and miracles happen.

Ingredients:

500 g of sterilised white cabbage

. 3 pcs of your favorite sausage (one spicy, two non-spicy) /td> 2 pcs green apples 100 ml of cider 1 tsp cane sugar 1/2 tsp ground cumin freshly ground pepper sunflower oil salt

Procedure:

  • Slice the sausages into thin rounds and fry briefly in the oil.
  • Prepare a mixture of cabbage, grated and peeled apples, sugar, cumin and cider. Salt and pepper the mixture to taste.
  • Place the sausages in the prepared mixture and transfer everything to the baking dish. Let the mixture bake in it for about 40 minutes at 180 degrees.
  • Serve with your favorite fresh bread.

    In this recipe we used Bohemia cider – apple (Bohemia Apple, cooperative). We can also recommend Moštík – 100% apple by Eduard Kozák, Jablko čiré (Moštárna Louny ln s.r.o.) or Nebílovský cider (LUKRENA a.s.). All of them are labelled Klasa.
