Apples baked in dough
Recipe from Sweden for stuffed apples wrapped in dough and then baked.
Ingredients:
Procedure:
1. Sift the smooth flour onto a rolling pin, add finely chopped softened butter, salt, knead quickly and knead a smooth dough with cold water
2. Leave in a cool place for about half an hour
3. Peel the apples and cut out the cores with a round cookie cutter
4. Roll out the dough on a floured roll into a thin rectangle, cut 12 squares, cover with apples, fill the holes with a mixture of steamed, peeled and finely ground almonds, sand sugar, cinnamon and wrap them in the dough
5. Brush with beaten egg and bake in a well heated oven until golden brown
6. Serve the apples warm or cold, with whipped cream or vanilla cream.
