A sauce for meatballs and no marinara recipe
Last Updated on
There are a lot of recipes for meatballs out there. Some call for marinara, some for a creamy sauce, and some for a sweet and sour sauce. But what about a meatball recipe that doesn’t call for any sauce at all?
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 onion, diced
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a bowl, mix together ground beef, bread crumbs, diced onion, egg, salt, and black pepper.
Form mixture into balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 20 minutes, or until cooked through.
These meatballs are great on their own, or you could serve them with a dipping sauce on the side. Try them with a ranch dressing or barbecue sauce. You could also add them to a pasta dish or serve them over some steamed rice.
tips:
If you’re using lean ground beef, you may need to add a little bit of olive oil to help the meatballs bind together.
Feel free to experiment with different kinds of ground meat in this recipe. Ground pork or turkey would work well.
For a vegetarian version of this recipe, try substituting the ground beef with cooked quinoa or rolled oats
