Use of red and yellow tomatoes in the homemade spaghetti sauce recipe

The first thing you need to do is gather all of your ingredients. For this recipe, you will need:
-1 1/2 pounds of Italian tomatoes, or about 3 cups worth
-1/2 a yellow onion
-4 cloves of garlic
-1/4 cup of olive oil
-1 teaspoon of sugar
-3/4 teaspoon of salt
-1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
-1/2 a cup of chopped fresh parsley
Once you have all of your ingredients, it’s time to start cooking! First, chop up your onion and garlic. Then, heat up the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened.
Next, add the tomatoes and sugar. Season with salt and black pepper, then bring the sauce to a simmer. Let it cook for about 30 minutes, or until the tomatoes are very soft.
Once the sauce is done cooking, add the chopped parsley and give it a good stir. You can either serve the sauce as is, or blend it until smooth. If you want to blend it, wait until it has cooled slightly first.
