The chocolate croissant is a delicious, flaky pastry that can be enjoyed for breakfast or as a dessert. This recipe is easy to follow and only requires a few ingredients.
You will need:
-1 sheet of puff pastry
-1/3 cup of chocolate chips
-1 tablespoon of sugar
-1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to an 8-inch square.
Trim even with the edges of the dough. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
4. Sprinkle the chocolate chips, sugar, and vanilla extract over the dough.
5. Starting at one corner, roll the dough up like a jelly roll. Press the seam to seal.
6. Cut the dough into 8 equal pieces and place them cut side up on the baking sheet.
7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Tips:
You can use any type of chocolate chips that you like. White chocolate, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate would all be delicious.
If you want to get really creative, you could add some chopped nuts or dried fruit to the filling.
These chocolate croissants are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but they can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days
