Recipe preparation
1 Cut the flowers into rosettes and boil them briefly in salted water, then drain, drain and leave to cool down. 2 If you want to make a salad, coarsely chop the rings, if you want to make a dressing, finely chop the rings and put them in a bowl. Add the finely chopped onion and cucumber. You can grate the cucumber into the spread. Add mayonnaise or cream (you can add half and half), mustard to taste, salt and pepper and stir. The salad may be thinned with cucumber sauce, if desired, and the dressing may be thickened with grated egg. 3 Place the salad or dressing in the refrigerator for at least two hours. Then serve with or on fresh bread, garnished with the remaining flowers, egg, cucumber… 4 The salad can be varied with corn, peppers, ham… 5 The flowers can be cooked not only in salted water but also in water with the juice of one lemon.
