Cocoa butter wafers in a cold process soap recipe
Last Updated on
Did you know that you could make your own soap at home? And that you can incorporate cocoa butter wafers into the mix for a luxurious, creamy bar of soap? Try out this cold process soap recipe that’s sure to please!
Ingredients:
1 pound of cocoa Butter Wafers
16 ounces of Coconut Oil
6 ounces of Olive Oil
6 ounces of Palm Kernel Oil
6 fluid ounces of Lye
16 fluid ounces ofWater
Instructions:
Start by measuring out all of your ingredients. This is important because you don’t want to accidentally add too much (or too little) of any one thing.
Next, melt the cocoa butter wafers and oils together. You can do this in a double boiler or in the microwave.
Carefully add the lye to the water and stir until it is fully dissolved.
Slowly pour the lye mixture into the melted oils and stir gently until it is fully combined.
Pour the soap mixture into a mold and let it sit for 24 hours. After this time, it will be solid enough to cut into bars.
Let your soap bars cure for 4-6 weeks before using. This will allow them to harden and last longer.
You can use your homemade soap just like you would any other bar of soap
