Strudel with apples recipe
Last Updated on
Ingredients
4 servings 1 piece puff pastry, chilled 4 pcs. 1 packet of low-fat quark 1 packet of almond flakes – peeled 1 packet of cinnamon sugar 1 packet of vanilla sugar 2 tablespoons of sugar to taste eggs
Recipe preparation method
1 Peel and cut the apples into small slices, mix with the cinnamon sugar and, if necessary, cinnamon sugar. Add more sugar to taste, add 1/2 packet of almonds. In a second bowl, prepare the cottage cheese by mixing it with 1/2 egg, vanilla sugar and, if necessary, sweeten it with more sugar. 2 Divide the dough into thirds, the last third in half, and roll out first the smaller piece of dough, which you set aside to prepare, and then the larger piece, on which you spread the apple mixture (it’s a good idea to sprinkle the dough with breadcrumbs or baby semolina, as it doesn’t get wet), and place the smaller rolled out piece of dough on top of the apples, then place the cottage cheese on top, cover the dough and finally connect the bottom dough so that the apples are below and above the cottage cheese. 3 The strudel can be ‘sewn’ together with a pair of braids to prevent puffing, brushed with the remaining 1/2 egg and sprinkled with almonds, baked at approximately 180-200 degrees until browned.
