Sieve the flour, prepare the sourdough starter. Prepare the yeast with a little lukewarm milk, yeast and a little granulated sugar.

When it rises add the rest of the sugar, butter, rum, egg yolks, beat the egg whites with a fork and add lukewarm milk as needed.

Prepare a smooth, not very thick dough and let rise in a warm place. On a board, roll out the dough to a thickness of 1 – 2 cm and roll out with a round mould. Leave to rise.

When they have risen a little, place them in hot oil. Place the finished doughnuts on paper napkins. While still warm, roll in a mixture of powdered sugar and vanilla sugar.
