No eggs, no liquids, no stirring! An incredibly easy apple pie that you’ll love 🙂 It’s fantastically tasty and tender, with a crunchy, sugary finish. As a variation, you can also mix ground poppy seeds into the apples, the cake will also be delicious.
1.
First of all, mix all the bulk ingredients for our “dough”. That is to say, mix the flour, semolina, powdered sugar, salt, sifted baking powder with a spoon. Then stir in the grated lemon zest. Finally, divide this loose mixture into 3 equal parts.
2.
For the filling, clean and grate enough apples to give a net weight of 1 kg. Add the cinnamon and vanilla sugar to the apples and mix well.
3.
Grease one 20×30 cm baking tray with oil and sprinkle with a little flour. Then spread one part of the dough evenly on the bottom. Carefully spread half of the apples over the dough and then spread the other part of the dough over the apples. Spread the other half of the filling and sprinkle with the third part of the crumble mixture.
4.
Scrape cold butter (or vegetable fat) evenly over the top, then sprinkle with brown cane sugar. The sugar will give the cake a subtle crunch and caramel note 🙂
5.
Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 40-45 minutes. You need to keep track of this as each oven bakes a little differently
6.
The cake is delicious, tender and juicy. The lemon zest gives it a great flavour and the cane sugar gives it a soft crispy crust 🙂

I wish you a good taste!
