Köfte is one of the most popular and simplest dishes in Turkish cuisine. There are many versions of it, but the classic and simplest Köfte differs from household to household with only minor details 🙂 I would like to share with you one of my simple versions that we like very much at home 🙂

Mix all the ingredients for the Köfte in one bowl.Then with wet hands, shape/pat out thin “pancakes” of Köfte 🙂

Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the Köfte on both sides. Don’t bake them too long, otherwise your meat will dry out. Depending on your taste, you can also bake a few peppers with the Köfte, which you simply bake together with the Köfte in the same pan.

As a side dish, in our home and also in Turkish households, most of the time they serve French fries or some baked potatoes 🙂 To this either Tartar sauce, ketchup or some yoghurt dressing.
