Excellent yeast dough with apple filling…
1.
Mix milk, yeast, sugar, egg and honey. Add the flour and knead into a compact mass. Add the softened butter a little at a time and with the last bit of butter add the salt.
2. Transfer to a floured board and shape into a loaf. Place in a bowl and cover with a tea towel and place in a warm place to rise. 3. Meanwhile, mix the softened butter with the cinnamon and sugar. Chop the apples, put them in a saucepan and boil with 4 tbsp sugar, lemon juice and water until soft and leave to cool. 4.
Work the risen dough on a floured board, roll out, spread with the buttery cinnamon filling, place the cooled apples on top and roll up into a roll. Cut the roll lengthways and fold one part over the other to make a braid, which is then joined together to form a wreath. Leave on the baking sheet to rise for about 10 minutes. Bake at 180°C for about 25 to 30 minutes until golden.
