A nostalgic dessert enhanced with sweet meringues that melt on the tongue.
1.
Mousse: Beat egg whites with lemon juice on low speed until frothy. Then gradually (spoonful by spoonful) add the sugar and beat on the highest speed until you get glossy, firm snow.
2.
Using spoons, spread the snow in mounds on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Don’t worry about the shapes, we’ll crush the meringues in the end anyway.
3.
Place the meringues in an oven preheated to 120°C and bake/dry for about an hour. Let cool completely.
4.
Strawberries: cut the strawberries into cubes, sprinkle with sugar, pour syrup over them, stir and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
5.
Whip the well-chilled cream together with the vanilla sugar into a whipped cream into which stir in the crushed meringues (yes, all of them) and half of the marinated strawberries.
6.
Distribute the whipped cream mixture between the glasses, garnish the top with the rest of the strawberries, and top the desserts with more of the juices released during marinating.
7.
Good taste!
