Watermelon is, without a doubt, the quintessential summer fruit in Spain. It is sweet, but at the same time light and very fresh and, in addition, it has many possibilities with ultra-easy recipes both sweet and savory. This watermelon granita is a bit different from the classic watermelon granita because it incorporates red wine, thus bringing us closer to a very aromatic watermelon sangria, sweetened by the action of molasses (or honey, to the taste of each one) and if we wanted we could enjoy it as a drink without freezing directly, with some ice cubes. It would also be a great option.

We could perfectly do it with a sweet wine or a white wine or simply replace the wine with vermouth. The possibilities are almost endless!
How to make watermelon and red wine slush
Ingredients
. Watermelon, 1/2 pc Red wine, 250 ml Fresh red chili, 3 slices Lime, 2 pcs Molasses or honey, 4 tablespoons (to taste)
Step 1
Clean the watermelon thoroughly, removing the rind completely and also removing the white part, which can be bitter. If the watermelon has pips remove them all carefully and panciencia, also cut the flesh of the watermelon into cubes.
Step 2
Chop the chili also, removing the seeds because they can be too spicy and put it together with the watermelon cubes in a blender.
Step 3
Put also the wine, honey or molasses and lime juice.
Step 4
Mash very well, until you have a homogeneous soup. Pour into an elongated and not very tall container and freeze completely. We will have to keep it in the freezer for at least two days.
Step 5
When we are going to serve our slush, scrape with the help of a fork and a little force, and serve in a glass or wherever everyone wants. You can also put some mint or basil leaves next to it to give it that aroma.
