Last Updated on
Cream cheese and herbs flavour the crust of these filo pastries. The fillets are filled, poured, then wrapped in bacon strips and baked to perfection.
Add chopped shrimp, crabmeat or lobster.
What you’ll need
4 sirloin fillets (fresh or frozen and thawed, about 1/2 lb) 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp. 1 tablespoon celery (chopped) 1 tablespoon onion (chopped) 1 cup bread crumbs (fresh and soft) 3 tablespoons cream cheese (light, softened) 2 teaspoons lemon juice 1 teaspoon parsley 1 teaspoon aromatic 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon. Peppercorns 8 slices bacon 1 tablespoon paprika (more or less if needed)
How to make it
Grease the baking dish lightly.
Season the fish with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper, then sprinkle with 1 teaspoon lemon juice.
In a large baking dish over medium heat, cook bacon until almost crisp. Place paper towels over drain.
Remove all wrappers except 1 tablespoon drippings. Add chopped celery and onion and stir until Vegetable Recipes are softened, about 2 to 4 minutes.
In a medium bowl, combine cooked celery and onion with bread crumbs, cream cheese, 2 teaspoons lemon juice, parsley, thyme, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
The garnish is divided into four equal parts. Place 1 serving of stuffing at the end of each fillet. Roll the fish fillet around the stuffing.
Wrap two rolls of fillet around each rolled fillet. If you like, use a toothpick to secure the stuffed fish rolls.
Stir the filament rolls into a lightly greased baking dish and sprinkle with paprika.
Bake at 350 F for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
Serve with lemon wedges, if desired.
The fish is good with rice, roasted potatoes and broccoli, or serve with cauliflower rice and peas.
Tips and variations
Add 1/2 cup or more of flaked crabmeat or lobster to the stuffing mix. Apple, flounder or similar white fish fillets may be used in place of the lobster.

“This was over Sunday dinner, everyone was tired of roast, chops and chicken. It was really different and everyone said they were ready to make it again soon. They loved it, the rest were as good if not better than the main meal.
