A quick and delicious burger patty that already uses the ingredients in your shredder. For a Sunday meal or an expat get-together, consider these delicious vinaigrettes. Hamburger wraps or salad wraps will serve if you’re looking for low-carb options.
What you’ll need
2 lbs/900 g ground beef (preferably screw) 1 tablespoon/15 ml Worcestershire'2 teaspoons / 10 ml soy sauce 1 teaspoon / 5 ml garlic powder 1 teaspoon / 5 ml onion powder 1 teaspoon / 5 ml salt 1/2 teaspoon / 2.5 ml pepper 1/2 teaspoon / 2.5 ml chilli powder 6 slices Cheddar cheese (sharp)
How to make it
1. Preheat the grill to medium heat.
2. Combine the rest of the beef ingredients except the salt and cheese. Shape into 6 cubes. Season the vinaigrette with salt immediately before they go on the grill.
3. Using tongs, a high-smoke oil such as canola or avocado oil, and paper towels, oil the grill well. Place the chunks on the grill and cook for 5 minutes on the side or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
During the last minute or two of cooking, place the cheese slices on the grill and cook for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
3. Remove from heat and serve with your favorite toasted sauce or wrapped in iceberg lettuce. They can also be sliced and served with a pita yogurt sauce.
